Being that I have a deeply embedded moral override in my head that prevents me from putting my foot up someones butt no matter how desperately they need it I sometimes suffer from an affliction akin to delirium tremens. Like most stories I could write a very long winded tale but the best way to describe the situation involves a sleazy dude ratting out another in an attempt to garner brownie points and make himself look good.
However, the wise and knowledgeable Jimmy Buffett has written, " ...good times and riches and son of bitches I have seen more than I can recall." The only known cure for such frustrating situations usually has to be pursued on the weekend since it involves about a gallon of Margarita mix and cheap tequila, along with chips, salsa, and several hours of Jimmy Buffett's best music.
Since it is Tuesday night with the weekend a distant and dim beacon of hope and relaxation I am forced to cruise You Tube looking for the next best thing. This imaginary vacation will either defuse my growing frustration saving me from financial ruin and possible jail time or my next post will actually be from Key West. Stay tuned for the forthcoming answer.

Although our preferred destinations might differ (about 8,000 feet altitude for me please), I share your desire to leave the &);@$"/ rat race behind. Here's wishing us both luck.

Rats at work I left most of them behind in my home country but you probably got them here in business as well. I work in charity that's a great environment to be in.
Love key west A cool place to be and great music.
The good news is the ass kissers and backstabbers never really get anyone in trouble. The boss just opens his mouth and sighs or something.
The thing to remember is the boss is just as lazy as everyone else. The bestway to deal with the idiots is to tell the boss the idiot said he needed something to do. Bosses hate that. the idiot will be scrubbing toilets soon.
I hope nobody where I work reads this.
I don't mean to rat anyone out but ... is always followed with a lie told by a wimp with bad intentions.
It proves that he does mean it and that it was no accident. The person who really innocently acts this way does not know to proclaim his innocence.
Marja,
What kind of charity work?
I browsed the pictures on your site. They are stunning!
I hear ya because when i retired from work i left all the rats, dobbers and backstabbers behind and haven't look back since :-).
Am I glad all that is behind me now that I'm retired. :)
There are few things better than distraction
What? No Slayer?
Thanks for bringing me along on your vacation dude!
If you don't make it that far dude, stop in St. Augustine and I'll join for a few cool ones.
LowandSlow: Absolutely! I am bone tired of all the crap.
Cloudia: I appreciate it!
Marja: Its not the place it once was, far too many rich people have ruined it. But it still has a great deal of magic.
Truth101: Its cool, I'm just blowing off steam.
John Myste: My thought exactly, plus he has done it before.
Windsmoke: I often daydream of winning the lottery and throwing a party where I tell everyone one off.
Akelamalu: Funny you should mention that, I recently looked into my retirement. The information was not good.
Glen: I imagine getting drunk at the Blue Heaven, a bar down in Key West, might be one of them.
Randal: Not this time, its a wonder I didn't include Jimmy on this one.
Mike: No problem! Planning an epic weekend excursion when my wife lets me. I'll be sure to take pictures.
Mr. Charleston: Serious as a proverbial heart attack, planning a weekend trip down to Florida in a month or two. It will be the utter definition of stupid male road trip and it will be around the Jacksonville area. I will be in touch a few weeks before.
Sometimes I wonder if we weren't brothers in another life...had the same kind of day, needed something like this and lo an behold here it is...
I'll be checking back tomorrow, after the cheap tequila runs its course, mind you.
Howdy Bum ... I dont know much about your line of work/ occupation ... but I worked several year's on job's, spent actually 24 year's in the printing industry working only 4 companies ... all job's have their up's and down's dayz, if that is what you were referring to, I have to say though in those year's I worked, beside's small time bullshit, never really worked with any truely bad employee's (lucky), they were overall some pretty fun crew's too at time's (lot's of hilarious stories I could tell : ) 2 of those companies I was in supervisor/ foreman position's, over the floor on the presses, as far as printing presses, and I really did give a hard dayz work, and stood up for those who worked under me as well, for their hard work, strongly, I have a reputation for that actually, still in contact with several that I worked with from year's ago even. These dayz I work for myself basically. However, I liked the video's here Guy, it brought back a few old memories, I think I told you I lived in Miami, Fl for awhile, and back in those dayz, it was easy to drive down to the Keys, the Margarita's sound good, if you recall the tequila with the worm in the bottle, you get a special treat when you eat the worm, as you may know ... heh, heh, heh, heh, heh : )
Later Guy ....
I'm lucky and get along really well with my coworkers. Of course, who wouldn't enjoy working with a bunch of fun-loving, beer-drinking geologists. Most of them collect rocks, snorkel, and one of them just happened to be in Key West last weekend.
And then there's the engineers at work...
The blond chick playing that teensy guitar is balderdashin' and rip roarin', bra. I just might have to go back and play that first video again.
And again.
And again.
have a nice virtual vacation there Beach!
