Just looking at the thing I feel the need for a salad, an angioplasty, and something to clean out my colon.
I'm all for a good burger and at times I have been known to eat two of even three at one sitting but that sucker could feed some family in a third world country for a week. Heard about this on NPR this morning and had to look it up.
Here's an unlikely economic indicator: Last week, the West Michigan Whitecaps minor league baseball team sold more than 100 mega-sized burgers on opening night.
It's made with five patties plus chili, American cheese, nacho cheese, tortilla chips, salsa, lettuce, tomato and sour cream — all piled on an 8-inch bun.
The mammoth meal weighs more than 4 pounds. And, even in this era of scaling back, plenty of people took on the burger by themselves.
Ho Ho Ho

Oh man, I just puked a little in my mouth.
Did you see the story about the taco bell employees who were spitting, flicking boogers, and doing other nasty things to the food they were serving? This made me feel the same way. ick!
Ugh. I'm with you, BB. I really do enjoy a top notch burger or three, but if that isn't the most Murkan thing this side of Chimptastic warmongering. Yikes.
Utah: Yeah, I saw it and have it on good authority that the practice is common. They just never get caught.
Randal: Tried not to make this very small post say anything bad about Americans but I'll be damned its embarrassing. Damn, we are fat enough already, and I'm including myself.
Burgers rock, but that is just gross...and shameful.
And Utah, I think that was Domino's. Came home to find the video playing on the news...
Cthulhu: Welcome and please come back. I didn't see the complete story myself, just that some fast food place was filthy with workers doing nothing about it.
Once say a story about some group wanting to tax fast food, didn't think much of it but it would help pay for the medical treatment for people who eat only fast food.
Oh dear. That's just scary!
THAT burger has it's own time zone.
Did you ever hear of the Heart Attack Grill?

blech, i think i just got indigestion looking at that mess.
Seems as if some are still trying for that American dream of unlimited satisfaction and sloth.
I flash on the vomitoriums of ancient Rome and how their system went down in flames with people standing at why.
I never eat fast food, too risky.
I would never eat that! Then again I will never eat at Taco Bell again either.
P.S. I had to do a follow up to this Beach:
Eating Red Meat Shortens Life
Jessica: It really was scary. I understand that it is often served as a meal for a group of people but it still a huge pile of grease.
Malicious Intent: I did see that and it was sort of worse than this video.
Lime: I really meant that after see it I felt the need for a salad. I eat meat but that could make me a vegan.
Goatman: Yeah, I remember when going to a McDonald's type fast food place was a very special occasion. We simply didn't eat out that much. But now in an effort to supply children with all sorts of activities parents let them eat "Happy Meals" on a more than regular basis. In the end they are sacrificing their future health.
MadMike: I freely admit that I have ate fast food and because of all the crap associated with the rat race of American life I will eat there again just because of the need to absolutely be at someplace on time. But I honestly don't taste anything when I do eat that food. Pretty much the same can be said about the national restaurant chains that line the interstate and cities. Its all preprocessed, packaged, and microwaved despite the clone-like decor of the insides and the advertising.
I'm sure in the future, once this lifestyle has passed on like the excesses of ancient Rome people will puzzle over how people lived, and died, like that.
urrrrrrggg how much can ppl really eat!!!
Keshi.
Oh my! That's the biggest burger I've ever seen.
I really enjoyed...
thanks for sharing this...
