Hello everyone, funny thing happened while I was playing with Miss Wiggles where she takes gymnastics. See there was this rope mounted to the ceiling for climbing and me being a excellent dad I had to show my daughter how I did it when I was a rough, tough, and much younger soldier. Yours truly scampered quite well up the twenty some-odd foot rope but when I came down on the cushions that protect the youngings from hurting themselves I looked down and saw my my right foot at a ninety-degree angle compared to my left. Within thirty minutes my ankle had swelled to the size of a nice watermelon and right now looks all purple and reddish. Now the pain is managed and bearable but with the house in chaos and the computer in a spot that does not lend well to extended writing I'm going to be away for a few more days. The little blue pills I'm taking for the pain make my head a little more than the usual weird so that is another reason why I will be away. I started typing this a good while ago and had to have Spoilboy take over. Everyone hang tight and I'll be back sometime Saturday.

Take care, Beach! Take real good care of yourself. You are the man. I was never able to go up rope, even in my prime. You're awesome, even if you're past your prime!
Ouch. Hope it feels better soon!
Blue pills + "makes my head feel weird" = Some pretty damn good (and most times funny) blog posts.
Try it sometime! ;)
Anyway, sorry to hear about your ankle...that DOES sound painful
Still, you are the manliest man I know in my small blogging world--you write about real stuff, you are honest and vulnerable. I salute you, fearless, showoff dad supreme. You get my vote for most honest blogger. Besides that you have talent. Are you working on a book, Beach?
Oh no! Hope you feel better tomorrow. Take good care.
oh! owowowowowowowow! and oh yeah OWWWWWWWWWWW! dang!
rest up, enjoy the pills, feel better soon.
awe. i'm sorry about your ankle. ice it up and have a couple of drinks and you'll feel better in no time!
Vigil:I freely admit that my "prime" is behind me and falling farther behind every day but like Jimmy says: "I'm growing older but not up."
Colonel: Most of the swelling has gone down and I went back to work Wednesday, but didn't do much, but the pain wears on me by the end of the day.
Stacy: I actually found that the little blue pills made Hillary bearable. If only I could get a prescription for them because of her.
Utah Savage: Thank you for your very kind words concerning the mental droppings I post. Yes, I was showing off for my daughter and honestly just to see if I could climb the rope still.
Japee: Joan, would you believe we still didn't spend any time in Charleston last weekend. We spent all of it at Pawelys or Myrtle Beach. Had a absolutely great time but I had been hoping to get to Magnolia Plantation.
Lime: Thanks, should be back at full steam by Monday night. Still will have to fight with Spoilboy over his need for his MySpace time and my Blogger time. I believe I will have to pull the old bedtime option to clear him out.
Tequila: We got absolutely wasted Thursday and Friday nights. Plan on getting blasted tonight.
Damn. Sounds painful Beach. Take care and try not to climb any more ropes...okay?
Hey, Parrothead, glad to see your out and about again. Hows that ankle, hero dad? It's one excellent pappa who would read through another Aging Barbie piece in the interest of his daughter's mental health and well-being. Yes, indeed, you're the manliest man I know in this here blogosphere.
My best to you and yours. Funny how things work out. The word verification I have to spell to post this comment is "svgyyd" we been savaged.

I agree with Stacy--let's hear more of you while on blue pills! ;)
